Best Indoor Football Venues in Lviv
Where to play 5-a-side and futsal indoors in Lviv during winter or rain — surface types, sizes, amenities and how to pick the right one.
Why indoor matters in Lviv
Lviv winters are long. From late October to early March, outdoor pitches are either frozen, slushy, or unplayable in the dark. The indoor scene is what keeps regular players sharp through the cold months.
Of the 27 verified Lviv venues, 4 are fully indoor halls, mostly with parquet flooring suited to futsal-style play.
What surfaces to expect
Indoor venues in Lviv use one of two surfaces:
- Parquet (wood): classic futsal surface. Fast, low-bounce, demands clean technique. Indoor flat-sole shoes only — never studs.
- Indoor artificial turf: rarer in Lviv but exists. Closer to the outdoor experience. Forgiving on the joints.
Check the field detail page for each venue — the surface is in the badge row at the top.
Picking the right venue
For beginners
Start at a parquet venue with a 5v5 size mark. The smaller pitch means more touches, more time on the ball, and forgiving spacing. Avoid 7v7 indoor halls until you're comfortable with positional play.
For competitive players
Look for venues with regular tournament listings (the HobbyTS Telegram chat usually mentions these). The pace and physicality on a parquet 5v5 court is closer to professional futsal than outdoor 7v7.
For mixed groups
Some indoor venues offer both 5v5 and 7v7 configurations and rent out the full hall by the hour. These are best when you have an even split of skill levels — split into two simultaneous games on the same surface.
Cost expectations
Indoor venues run at a premium because of heating and lighting:
- Parquet 5v5: 800–1,500 UAH per hour for the hall (~€18–€33). Split among 10 players = €2–€3.30 each.
- Indoor turf 7v7: 1,200–2,200 UAH per hour. Split among 14 players = €2–€3.50 each.
Some venues require a deposit for booking — confirm before you go.
Amenities to check
Not all indoor halls have what you'd expect:
- Changing rooms: common in newer venues, missing in older sports schools.
- Showers: rarer than changing rooms.
- Parking: usually street-only in central Lviv.
- Equipment rental: none of the verified Lviv venues rent boots — bring your own.
Etiquette inside
- Wear flat-sole indoor shoes only on parquet. Studs damage the floor and you'll be asked to leave.
- Don't kick the ball into the ceiling intentionally. Lights and HVAC are expensive to fix.
- Keep substitutions on a rolling basis (futsal style) — don't wait for a stoppage.
What to bring
Same as outdoor pickup, but:
- Replace turf shoes with flat-sole indoor shoes (no marks on the sole — court shoes or futsal-specific).
- Bring a towel — indoor halls heat up fast.
- A second t-shirt is more important indoors than outdoors.
Recommended starter rotation
If you're new to indoor football in Lviv, pick one parquet venue as your home and join the same group's pickup games for 4–6 weeks before exploring others. Familiarity with one floor's bounce, lighting, and crowd shortens the learning curve dramatically.
